–Microphone does not properly respond
Make sure there isn’t a headset inserted into the headphone port, then perform a Microphone test to verify whether the microphone is functioning.
•If the microphone works fine during the test, make sure the game you are playing supports the microphone feature. Check the game’s manual for more information.
————————————————————–
–Nintendo DSi – Settings – Mic Test
You can use this feature to verify that the Nintendo DSi’s built-in microphone is working properly.
How to test the microphone:
1. On the Nintendo DSi Menu, use the stylus to select the Settings (“wrench”) icon.
2. Select the right arrow twice to go to page 3, then select “Mic Test.”
3. Speak into the microphone (the microphone is located on the center of the Nintendo DSi hinge).
4. The volume bar will fill up with colored bands when it picks up sound.
•If the volume meter does not fill up, check whether anything is connected to the headset port. If noting is connected and test still does not work, then there is likely a problem with the microphone and the Nintendo DSi will need to be repaired. Please click here (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/dsi_repair_home.jsp?problem=TWMIC ) for repair information.
•If the volume meter responds, then the microphone is working properly.
