When two Army soldiers get married and have kids, what happens?
I have just enlisted in the Army for 6 years. I am curious to what happens if I meet, get married and have children within the next years while I am serving. Hypothetically speaking, if I marry a soldier and have kids, how would we raise the children. Just curious!
If you marry another soldier and have kids you would have to put in for dual military/Married Army Couples Program this program tries to keep married soldiers within 50 miles of each other. Not a guarantee but usually works well especially if you have similar MOS’s or at least MOS’s that can go anywhere.
If you have kids you will need a family care plan. Basically it states for deployments/field time or any type of duty you have someone that will take guardianship of your child while you may both be away.
You both might be subjected to getting out if you can’t get a family care plan. You have 30 days from the birth of the child.
Keep in mind you can deploy together.
My husband and I were dual military (Army) for 6 years, have one child and deployed at the same time to Iraq.
